We can make a difference!

When we look at much of our world today, it is easy to see that something has gone wrong and something needs to be done about it. We believe that the Church is the answer to what our world needs and that together, we can do something to make a difference.

The ‘Beyond the Walls’ initiatives listed in this brochure are just some of the ways our church is working together to make a huge impact in our community and beyond.

Our prayer is that you would join us as we live out the Gospel of Jesus Christ by becoming His ‘hands and feet’ to all who are in need.

We have a faith goal to invest $115,000 to these life-enhancing mission initiatives in the 2018 financial year.

Making a difference is easy

Step 1: Decide to become a partner with us. When you give, you make ALL of these initiatives possible.

Step 2: Decide how much you’d like to give monthly or as a one off amount and start contributing today.

Step 3: Spread the word. Tell everyone about our initiatives. The more people you tell, the more impact we’ll have together.

Local Initiatives

Our heart is to make life better for the community we live in and we do this in a number of ways including:

Helping Schools

The local high schools and primary schools around each of our campuses have invited Centrepoint to partner with them to provide additional support to their students. Every week, our volunteers make a huge difference by running self-esteem programs, after-school tutoring, one-on-one mentoring, lunch time activities, breakfast clubs, teacher appreciation days and student rewards days.

Drama Armour

This community program connects isolated people of all abilities through the medium of theatre arts and has been successfully reaching our community for many years.

Mums and tots

Our church runs this program to give women an opportunity to meet and support each other through the early stages of motherhood.

Flying Solo

This initiative creates a safe place for solo parents and their children to come together and network on a regular basis.

Strategic Partnerships

God-ordained partnerships take us beyond what any one of us could possibly hope to achieve on our own. Centrepoint aligns its strength and resource with the following organisations to see God’s purpose fulfilled in thousands of lives.

ACC International Missions

We remain committed to partnering with ACCI Missions, the missionary sending and support agency of Australian Christian Churches. ACCI Missions currently have over 158 individuals serving overseas across Africa, Asia and Europe.

Harvestnet

This organisation is committed to planting great churches in Australia and beyond – churches that serve their community, influence their city and ultimately, impact nations.

Compassion

We love partnering with this reputable child development organisation because it is committed to the spiritual, economic, social and physical development of children living in extreme poverty.

Youth Alive

It is a pleasure to partner with Youth Alive because it so effectively influences thousands of youth across our state by boldly presenting the Gospel to the next generation.

Global Initiatives

Being part of a global village requires us to look much further than our own backyard. As a church we have a responsibility to help the less fortunate in other nations.

This year’s international focus has been centered on the nation of Syria and its hurting people. The war in this region has left 13.5 million people in desperate need of humanitarian assistance.

We can no longer turn a deaf ear to their cries for help. Even though we are on the other side of the world, our church has partnered with the relief agencies, Preemptive Love Coalition and Open Doors, to bring hope to the hopeless. Both these organisations are on the ground helping rebuild people’s lives through practical assistance and by sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Church Planting

We are thrilled to be pioneering again in early 2018. Centrepoint will be launching the first of many extension services in rural Western Australia.

So many residents in our country towns have no access to a life-giving, spirit-filled church community. Imagine bringing change to these towns by finding good people who love God and their local region. We then are training them to host a Centrepoint service for their community, supplying the resources needed to form an extension of our church. This is a game changer for rural West Australians, with our first extension service launching in March 2018!

Christmas Breakfast

Every year our church feeds the homeless, isolated and lonely on Christmas morning. In 2016, we hosted over 900 people across three locations; from 2017, we expect to reach more than 1,000 people. It is a great opportunity for us to present the Gospel in a time when many are seeking answers and help.
